DOHA  – Qatari show jumper Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Thani will return to action at the Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League, with the prestigious event’s 10th leg taking place from August 7 to 9 at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, United Kingdom.The London leg will bring together the world’s leading riders and some of the finest horses in the sport, as Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Thani competes in both the individual competition and the team event as part of the Doha Falcons. The Qatari team will battle against 16 other teams for titles and prize money exceeding £1.5 million, including a record £1 million for the feature Grand Prix, the richest prize in the tour’s history. The premier class will be contested over obstacles reaching 1.60 metres.The event will feature a star-studded field of international riders, including Wadnan rider Abdulrahman Said, who currently leads the championship standings with 187 points, alongside Max Kühner, Christian Ahlmann, Henrik von Eckermann, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Harry Charles.The line-up also includes previous London Grand Prix winners such as Peder Devos, Christian Kukuk and Peder Fredricson, as well as Katrin Eckermann, Sophie Hinners, Maikel van der Vleuten, Denis Lynch, Gregory Cottard, Gilles Thomas, Victor Bettendorf, Sanne Thijssen and Harry Allen, among many other leading names.British fans are expected to create a spectacular atmosphere after tickets for the London leg sold out, with strong home support anticipated for Britain’s leading riders, including Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Harry Charles, as they seek victory in front of their home crowd. Popular home favourites such as Jack Whitaker, Joseph Stockdale, Jody Hall McAteer and Sienna Charles will also be looking to impress.Following London, the Longines Global Champions Tour will head to Valkenswaard in the Netherlands for its 11th leg from September 4 to 6, before moving to Vienna from September 24 to 26. The tour will then travel to the historic Italian capital Rome from October 9 to 11, followed by a spectacular new destination at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt from October 22 to 24.The Cairo leg represents one of the tour’s major surprises this season, following an agreement for the Egyptian capital to host a round of the prestigious series. The tour will then return to the Arab world for its next stop in Rabat, Morocco, from October 30 to November 1, before concluding with the GC Playoffs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 18 to 21, 2026.

DOHA  – Team Qatar's riders are set to compete in the eighth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour and the GCL (Global Champions League), taking place in Monaco from 2 to 4 July. The event will bring together the world's elite show jumpers to compete for prize money approaching €1 million across the competition.Hosted at the iconic Port Hercule, the Monaco leg will see Qatar's riders contest several classes, including the prestigious CSI5* competitions, which feature prize funds exceeding €350,000.Representing Qatar are Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Thani, Mohammed Al Baker, Rashid Al Marri, Ghanem Al Qadi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Nasser Al Ghazali, Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, and Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber.Following Monaco, the Longines Global Champions Tour will continue in Riesenbeck, Germany (16–19 July), before heading to London, England (7–9 August), the circuit's only stop in August.The championship will then move to Valkenswaard, the Netherlands (4–6 September) for the 12th leg, followed by Vienna, Austria (24–26 September), Rome, Italy (9–11 October), the spectacular Pyramids of Giza, Egypt (22–24 October), and Rabat, Morocco (30 October–1 November), before concluding with the GC Playoffs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 18 to 21 November 2026, bringing the season to a close. 

Paris : Qatar’s Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei produced an impressive performance to claim victory in the CSI1* 1.25m class at the seventh leg of the 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL Team Series, held in the French capital, Paris.Partnering Flash de Boijets, Al Yafei delivered a faultless round and crossed the finish line in 26.55 seconds to secure first place ahead of a competitive field of international riders.Mexico’s Priscila Pasquel finished second aboard Fin Lotte de K with a time of 26.88 seconds, while Great Britain’s Tess Carmichael took third place riding Bungle SR in 27.40 seconds.The victory marks another notable achievement for Qatari equestrian sport and highlights the continued development of the nation’s riders on the international circuit. It also reflects Qatar’s growing reputation in global showjumping competitions, where its athletes continue to deliver strong performances against top-class opposition.Al Yafei’s success in Paris adds to a series of positive results for Qatari equestrianism and reinforces the country’s position as an emerging force in the sport at both regional and international levels.
