Qatar Padel Open Tournament Concludes

Doha: The third edition of the Qatar Padel Open Tournament, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, concluded after a week of intense competition at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. The tournament brought together around 150 players, showcasing the growing popularity of padel in Qatar.  

In the men's A category, the duo of Javier Navarro and Nacho Oteo claimed the championship title, while brothers Rashid and Meshari Nawaf secured second place after a spirited performance.  

Tareq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, highlighted the tournament's role in advancing padel within the country. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Zainal emphasized the Federation’s commitment to supporting Qatari players and fostering the sport’s growth locally and internationally.  

“This tournament is an important step in the development of padel in Qatar and aligns with our vision to elevate the sport's status on both the local and global stage. We congratulate the winners for their outstanding performances and look forward to continuing such initiatives to promote the game further,” Zainal stated.
