DOHA - The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will hold a press conference at its headquarters on Sunday to unveil the list of team Qatar athletes who are going to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Sunday’s press conference will be attended by a number of QOC officials besides team Qatar athletes are going to compete in this biggest sport event, which run from 26th July to 11th of August in France’ capital city of Paris.
The athletes include Mutaz Essa Barshim, a three-time Olympic medalist, who won the men’s high jump gold medal in Tokyo 2020 and two silver medals in London 2012 and Rio 2016. Aboubakar Haydar Abdallah, an 800m runner, will also compete, as will the Qatari trio Abdalrahman Samba, Bassem Hameeda, and Ismail Dawoud, who will compete in the 400m run.
The Team Qatar line-up for Paris 2024 Olympics also includes, the short distance sprinter, Qatar’s Shahad Mohammed who is going to secure her first appearance in Olympics in the women’s 100 m run.
Trap shooter Saheed Abu Sharob, skeet shooter Rashid Saleh Al-Athba, and weightlifter Fares Ibrahim Hassouna are also part of the Paris 2024 Olympics line up.
Abdulaziz Al-Obaidli will be competing in the 200m breaststroke, while the Qatar national beach volleyball duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahemd Tijan are also competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
