Darsh Khedekar wins Qatar Asian Junior Tournament
Doha: The competitions of the second Qatar Asian Junior Tournament under 14 years were concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Saturday.
Darsh Khedekar of India claimed the title of boys’ singles event after beating Nevan Kannangara of Sri Lanka 6-0 6-2 in the final match.
Muslimakhon Turdimurodova of Uzbekistan edged past Aylara Kakabayeva 6-4 6-2 to win the title of girls’ singles event.
The Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation Secretary General Tariq Zainal congratulated the winners and stressed that the event comes in light of the federation’s strategy to develop tennis the state of Qatar.
Team Qatar win seven medals at Arab Shooting Championship
TUNIS – Team Qatar shooters opened their campaign in Arab Shooting Championship 2024 on a high note by claiming seven medals in Tunisia on Monday.
Qatar’s Maha Al-Ali won gold medal in the women’s rifle 10m, as teammate Sheikha Al-Naimi took the bronze in the same class. Likewise, Qatar’s Abdulrhman Al-Sulaiti seized the silver medal in the Men’s rifle 10m and Saad Al-Sulaiti won the bronze in the same class.
In men’s team pistol 10m, Qatar shooters, Hamad Al-Marri, Saieed Al-Marri and Abdallah Al-Hajiri won the bronze medal, while Qatar women team consists of Bahia Al-Hamad, Mattra Al Asiri and Dalal Al-Qubeisi won the bronze medal in the women’s team rifle 10m.
The championship is bringing together 128 shooters (men and women) who represent 9 Arab countries.
Team Qatar to participate in Asian Beach Volleyball Championship
Amman: Qatar’s beach volleyball team will participate in the second West Asia Beach Volleyball Championship for Men and Women, which gets underway today in Amman, Jordan.
Seven nations are taking part in the event, which continues until Friday. The field consists of men’s and women’s teams from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Iraq, and hosts Jordan.
Team Qatar squad includes; Abdullah Naseem, Mohamed Ihab (Qatar 1), Ahmed Yayha, Tariq Mohammed (Qatar 2), Dalma, Layla Mohammed (Qatar women’s team 1), Shaqaf Ismail and Haya Abu Essa (Qatar’s women’s team 2).
Al Rayyan win Amir's Volleyball Cup Title
Doha: Al Rayyan won the title of HH the Amir's Volleyball Cup in its 46th edition, defeating the Police in the final match that brought them together on Friday at the Qatar Volleyball Association hall.
Al Rayyan succeeded in presenting a strong match, winning it in three games (26-24), (25-19), and (25-18), winning the title for the 16th time in its history, while the Police lost the final for the sixth time, after having previously won it once in its history.
Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, congratulated the Al Rayyan team on winning the championship title, and the Police team on winning second place.
Al-Kuwari said in press statements after the match that the two teams performed more than wonderfully during the final match of the tournament.

Doha: Excitement is building as the table tennis world marks a significant milestone – exactly one year from today, the first ball will be served at the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2025 in Doha. From May 17 to 25, 2025, the state-of-the-art Lusail Sports Arena will play host to the world’s top table tennis players, who will compete for the ultimate prize in the sport.

The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2025 promises to be an incredible spectacle, where the best players in the world will compete at the highest level. There will be a 128-player main draw in both the Men’s and Women’s Singles events, and 64-pair main draws for the Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles events.
Team Qatar qualify to Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships 2024
Sulaymaniyah: Qatar's national table tennis team qualified to the ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships to be staged in Chongging, China from June 30 to July 06, 2024.
Team Qatar secured their sport in the Asian event after claiming the first place in the West Asian Qualification Tournament concluded in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq on May 16.
Team Qatar included; Sultan Khalid Al Kuwari, Ahmed Eid Qurani, Yousef Abdulzaher and Rawad Al Nasser.
