Team Qatar golfers shine in 2021 OHI Oman Amateur Opens
Muscat: The Qatari golf team stole the show at the 2021 OHI Oman Amateur Opens which was held at Ghala Golf Club in Muscat, Oman recently with participation of 120 athletes.
Team Qatar star Saleh Al Kaabi claimed the first place ahead of Ali Abdullah Al Shahrani in the second place while Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Shahrani finished third.
OHI Oman Amateur Opens is one of the most famous golf tournaments in the region as it used to attract top amateur golfers from Qatar, Oman and other GCC nations.
Team Qatar line up for FIFA Arab Cup opener
Doha: Qatar national football team intensified their preparations for opening match of 2021 FIFA Arab Cup to begin on November 30.
The hosts, who are seeking a maiden title, are in Group A of the tournament along with Bahrain, Oman, and Iraq. They will meet Bahrain in their opening match at the brand new Al Bayt Stadium – a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 venue – which will be inaugurated ahead of the kickoff.
Qatar will square off with Oman on December 3 before taking on Iraq in their final group match on
Qatar coach Felix Sanchez announced a full-strength Qatar squad for the Arab Cup this week, welcoming back captain Hassan Al Haydos, who missed the team’s last two matches in Europe due to an injury.
The national squad also includes Asian Cup 2019 top scorer Almoez Ali, feared striker Akram Afif and seasoned Abdelkarim Hassan besides Al Duhail star Bassam Al Rawi.

Team Qatar win bronze medal in Asian Beach Volleyball Championships
PHUKET, THAILAND - Qatar’s beach volleyball team including Cherif Younousse and Tijan Ahmed spared no effort to win the bronze medal of the 2021 Asian Beach Volleyball Championships in Phuket, Thailand on Saturday.
In the men’s third-place playoff clash earlier Saturday, Qatari duo were superior in every department against Dmitriy Yakovlev/Sergey Bogatu to cruise past the Kazakh pairing 21-15, 21-15 in 35 minutes for the bronze medal.
Most notably, Ahmed and Cherif had already captured the Asian title for two times in a row in 2018 in Thailand and 2019 in China aside from winning the Qatar’s first beach volleyball gold in the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
Curtain comes down on QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021
DOHA: The QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021 was concluded in front of glistening Lusail Marina waters on Saturday. The Qatar Triathlon Federation (QTF) hosted a public race for over 250 triathletes from Qatar and the GCC region.
Aday Alvarez claimed the first place in Men’s event with a time of 57:35 minutes. Bernard Mccullagh and Tomas Perucca took the second and third places respectively.
Toni Snoxell won Women’s event after clocking a time of 1:09:11. Adeline Cormary occupied the second place ahead of Rebecca Page in third place.

The QOC Padel Tournament 2021 by ooredoo concluded
DOHA- The QOC Padel Tournament 2021 by ooredoo was concluded on Saturday. The third edition of the tournament was held at Ali Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Arena of Al Sadd Sports Club and the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex with participation more than 600 players.
Thani Al Malki, Executive Director, Business at Ooredoo, Jabor bin Saleh Al Mosalam, the chairman of Board of Directors of Sports Corner, Turky Al-Ali Executive Director of Al Sadd Sports Club, Danial Storey General Manager of The Zone, Tareq Zainal Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation and Sabah Al Kuwari Director of PR at Ooredoo Qatar crowned the winners on the final day of the tournament.
In Men’s event, Carlos Lopez Hidalgo and Gonzalo Sacho won the title of Category (A) after beating Guillem Blasi and Pablo Gomez Molpeceres in the final match.
Cristobal Diaz and Hani Mohamed claimed the title of Category (B) after beating Alexandru Rosca and Khalid Al Hindawi in the final match while Abdulla Kafoud and Mohamed Hassan Al Yafei won the title of Group (C) following their victory over Ahmed Al Sowaidi and Mikel De Morentin.
Beltran Choya and Javier Maluf hoisted the trophy of Juniors U16 Years Category after beating Hamza Al Sayed and Jan Wajgt in in the final match.
In Women’s event, Araya Suksomrup and Theresa Reynolds occupied the first place at Category (B) following their victory over Madalina Victoria and Sanny Tornabene while May Sy and Rojimar Gomez claimed the title of Category (D) after beating Heba Al Ansari and Dinara in the final match.
Jassim Al Mulla and Ishaq Al Hashimi claimed the title of QOC Employees Padel Tournament after winning the final match held on Friday.
The Tournament Director Nasser Al Modahka hailed the success of the QOC Padel Tournament in its third edition which featured the participation of more than 600 players.
He also thanked the sponsors for their support to the Qatari Sports and to Padel in particular.
Al Modahka said that the QOC organized the inaugural Padel Tournament in lights of its efforts to increase community engagement and sports participation.
The 2021 edition of the tournament is held under the sponsorship of ooredoo Qatar "Official Title Partner", The Zone Company "Official Sponsor", Sport Corner "Official Sponsor", Al Meera Company "Official Supplier" and 1969 Padel & More "Official Supplier".

QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021 to begin on Friday
DOHA – The competitions of the QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021, organized by the Qatar Triathlon Federation (QTF) will get underway on Friday .
The two-day event – with $20,000 up for grabs in prize money - will be held at Lusail Marina where 59 athletes from 21 countries will cover World Triathlon’s Olympic distances in swimming, cycling and running.
Hosts Qatar will also field five athletes at the November 26-27 event including the experienced Ebrahim al-Romaihi during the event that is part of the Continental Cup Series supported by World Triathlon, the global governing body.
This week’s QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021 will mark the return of the international triathlon events to Qatar for the first time since the Asian Games held in 2006.
The participating athletes will cover 1500 meters swim around the Yacht Club in Lusail Marina. This will be followed by a 40-km cycling phase that will end with athletes completing a flat 10km run.
