Casablanca – Team Qatar continued its brilliant run at the 4th Arab Aquatics Championships for Age Groups, clinching three new gold medals on Friday in Casablanca, Morocco. The tournament, which runs until September 1, features athletes from 19 Arab nations across swimming, water polo, and open water swimming.Ali Sayed stormed to victory in the men’s 50m freestyle (general category), clocking an impressive 22.65 seconds to claim gold. In the 100m breaststroke (13–14 age group), Adam Morsi secured Qatar’s second gold of the day with a winning time of 1:09.35 minutes. The third gold came through Mohammed Mahmoud, who topped the podium in the 200m individual medley (general category), finishing in 2:05.78 minutes.Adding to the medal tally, Abdullah Al Ghamri earned a bronze medal in the 200m backstroke (17–18 age group).With these results, Qatar’s swimmers not only secured podium finishes but also set new Arab records, underlining their rising status in regional aquatics. The latest victories lifted Qatar’s overall tally to seven gold medals at the championship.

Qatar Shines with Seven Medals at Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan

Shymkent, Kazakhstan – Team Qatar closed its campaign at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship with an impressive haul of seven medals, capped by a silver in the men’s double trap event.The Qatari trio of Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Saeed Abu Sharib, and Rashid Al Athba delivered a strong performance to secure the silver medal after a tough contest against shooters from Kazakhstan, India, and Uzbekistan. The team hit 266 targets across four rounds, with Al Rumaihi also ranking sixth individually. Kazakhstan claimed the gold, while India settled for bronze.This latest success lifted Qatar’s overall tally to seven medals: Silver in women’s trap – Ray Bassil, Bronze in men’s team trap – Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Saeed Abu Sharib, and Angelo Scalzoni, Bronze in mixed moving target rifle (20+20) , Amal Mahmoud Bronze in men’s individual skeet , Ali Ahmed Al Ishaq, Bronze in men’s team skeet – Mohammed Al Kuwari, Rashid Saleh Al Athba, and Ali Ahmed Al Ishaq, Bronze in mixed skeet – Ali Al Ishaq and Sarah Ghulam, Silver in men’s double trap – Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Saeed Abu Sharib, and Rashid Al Athba.The Qatari delegation, led by Ahmed Al Kuwari, included team manager Nawal Al Sulaiti and 32 male and female shooters. The championship featured four disciplines: pistol, rifle, skeet, and trap.Expressing his pride in the achievement, Jassim Shaheen Al Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, praised the shooters’ determination and focus, which enabled them to excel against Asia’s top competitors. Qatar Volleyball Gears Up for World Championship with Iran Showdown

DOHA  – Qatar’s national volleyball team will continue its final preparations for the FIVB World Championship with a high-profile friendly against Iran on Sunday evening at the Federation Hall in Doha.The clash comes as part of a busy warm-up schedule designed to sharpen the team ahead of the global tournament, set for September 12–28 in the Philippines.Qatar has been holding intensive daily training sessions at its domestic camp and recently tested itself in two competitive friendlies against Egypt, both ending in draws. The matches showcased Qatar’s resilience, with the team fighting back in both encounters to level the series after dropping early sets.The build-up continues with a second meeting against Iran on Tuesday, before a three-game series against Ukraine on September 4, 6, and 7 – the last stop before the squad departs for Manila.Qatar faces a challenging path in the World Championship, having been drawn into Group B alongside world No. 1 and defending champions Poland, the Netherlands, and Romania. The Maroons open their campaign on September 13 against the Netherlands, followed by a showdown with Poland on September 15, before concluding the group stage against Romania on September 17.This will be Qatar’s second World Championship appearance, after making its debut in 2022 in Poland and Slovenia. With the tournament expanding to 32 teams for the first time since 1998, Qatar is aiming to build on its experience and make a strong statement against some of the world’s top volleyball nations.

Qatar to Face Yemen Sunday in 2nd Group A Match at Gulf U-20 Youth Cup

Abha, (QNA) - The Qatari national team will face its Yemeni counterpart Sunday, at Damac Stadium in Saudi Arabia in its second match in Group A of the ongoing Gulf U-20 Youth Cup, which continues until September 9.In the same group, Saudi Arabia, the group leader with 3 points, will play against Kuwait at Prince Sultan Sports City Stadium.The Qatari team had drawn in its opening match of the tournament against Kuwait with two goals each, showing a good level of performance and earning its first point in the competition.Spanish coach Emmanuel Infante, head of the Qatari team, aims to secure the first win in tomorrow’s match to reach four points, putting the team on the verge of qualifying for the semifinals.Coach Infante stated in a press interview that participation in this tournament is aimed at gaining experience and exposure in preparation for upcoming competitions.He expressed optimism about the team’s ability to achieve satisfying results and gain significant technical benefits, alongside efforts to advance to the final stages to maximize the experience.The 23-player squad includes Naim Al Maghni, Ali Boumediene, Christian Saric, Ahmed Al Sayed, Ahmed Nasser, Iran Kothuru, Emmanuel Francis, Bilal Mohammed, Jadon Joseph, Khaled Al Shuaibi, Khalid Hossam, Radhi Mohammed, Richard Sham, Asim Ahmed, Oloum Mohammed, Abdulaziz Al Mutawa, Omar Ali, Qais Al Rawi, Calvin Masangi, Mohammed Jihad, Mohammed Moatasem, Moamen Mohammed, and Youssef Hani.Qatar will conclude its group stage matches by facing Saudi Arabia on September 3 at Prince Sultan Sports City Stadium.The tournament matches are being held at Prince Sultan Sports City Stadium and Damac Club Stadium. ABHA -  Team Qatar’s U-20s kicked off their Gulf Cup journey with a spirited display, holding Kuwait to a 2–2 draw in a lively Group A opener on Thursday at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha, Saudi Arabia.The clash had drama from the start. Kuwait struck early through Mohammed Al-Mulla inside five minutes, but Qatar answered swiftly, with Richard Robert leveling in the 16th minute. Just as momentum shifted, Abdullah Khalifa restored Kuwait’s lead in the 27th minute, only for Ahmed Nasser to fire back almost instantly to make it 2–2 before the half-hour mark.The first half ended with both sides trading blows, while the second half turned into a tactical battle. Spanish head coach Emmanuel Infante made smart adjustments, tightening Qatar’s defense and giving his side more control in midfield.
