Doha:  Team Qatar padel team defeated Bahrain 3-0 today in their third match of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 at Aspire Dome courts.In the opening match, the Qatari duo of Mishari Nawaf and Rashid Nawaf secured a straight-sets victory over Bahrain’s Yousif Qaed and Omar Qaed by 6-0 and 6-1.In the second match, Qatar’s Khalid Saadoun and Essa Shanan defeated Bahrain’s Ahmed Khalid and Hussein Diwani in three sets by 6-0, 1-6, and 6-3.In the third match, the Qatari pair of Mohammed Saadoun and Hassan Wali defeated Bahrain’s Ali Diwani and Rashid Al Obaidli in straight sets after Team Qatar won the opening set 6-0 before Bahrain withdrew from the second set due to Rashid Al Obaidli’s injury.The victory marked Team Qatar’s third consecutive win in the tournament after opening their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia before defeating Kuwait 2-1 in the second round.Team Qatar will face the UAE tomorrow, Wednesday, in the final round of the padel competition, with the team aiming to secure victory and claim the gold medal.Team Qatar padel had previously won gold at the last GCC Games held in Kuwait in 2022.

Qatar Win Seven Medals in Shooting at GCC Games Doha 2026

Doha: Qatar shooters won seven medals today, including three gold and four silver medals, in the trap and 10m air pistol competitions held at Lusail Shooting Complex as part of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, which conclude next Friday.Qatar’s three gold medals came in the following events:In the men’s team trap competition, the Qatari trio of Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Angelo Scalzone, and Saeed Abu Sharib won gold after finishing first with a total of 354 targets. Kuwait claimed silver with 344 targets, while the UAE secured bronze with 341 targets.In the women’s 10m air pistol individual event, shooter Doaa Habib won gold after finishing first with 231.2 points. UAE shooter Ghalia Al Shuhail claimed silver with 229.6 points, while Bahrain’s Aisha Al Braiki won bronze with 209.2 points.Qatar’s third gold medal came in the women’s team 10m air pistol event through Doaa Habib, Aisha Al Abdullah, and Salma Al Maas, who finished first with 1,669 points. Bahrain won silver with 1,646 points, while the UAE took bronze with 1,634 points.Meanwhile, Qatar’s four silver medals came in the women’s team trap competition, where the Qatari trio of Meitha Al Buainain, Khulood Al Khalaf, and Ray Bassil finished second with 310 targets. Kuwait won gold with 320 targets, while Bahrain secured bronze with 298 targets.In the men’s individual trap event, Mohammed Al Rumaihi won silver, while Kuwait’s Abdulrahman Al Faihan claimed gold and UAE shooter Yahya Al Muhairi secured bronze.Meitha Al Buainain also won silver in the women’s individual trap event behind Kuwait’s Shahad Al Hawal, while Bahrain’s Marwa Bouarki secured bronze.In the men’s team 10m air pistol competition, Qatar’s Khalid Al Shaiba, Nasser Al Sunaij, and Mohammed Al Yafei won silver with 1,679 points, while Saudi Arabia claimed gold with 1,693 points and Oman secured bronze with 1,664 points.The medal ceremonies were attended by Dr. Mishaal Ibrahim Al Nasr, President of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, Jassim Shaheen Al Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the federation, and Ahmed Anani, Executive Director of Qotenos Company.With these results, Team Qatar shooting raised their overall tally at the GCC Games to 18 medals, including eight gold, five silver, and five bronze medals.The shooting competitions conclude tomorrow, Wednesday, with the mixed team trap and mixed team 10m air pistol events followed by the finals and medal ceremonies.Jassim Shaheen Al Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of Team Qatar shooters after winning seven medals today and raising their total tally to 18 medals.Al Sulaiti said: “Our shooters managed to reach the podium and win seven medals today despite the strong competition against some of the Gulf region’s top shooters in the trap and pistol events. This confirms the success of the federation’s strategic plans led by Dr. Mishaal Ibrahim Al Nasr, in addition to the intensive preparation camps and integrated administrative and technical efforts.” 

Team Qatar Volleyball Win Silver Medal at GCC Games Doha 2026

Doha: Team Qatar men’s volleyball team won the silver medal at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, currently taking place in Doha until May 22 under the slogan “One Gulf, One Heart.”Team Qatar secured silver after losing to Bahrain in straight sets by 25-21, 27-25, and 25-23 in the final match held today at Aspire Women’s Sports Hall during the third and final round of the competition.The match witnessed strong competition between the two sides, but Bahrain managed to maintain the upper hand and win all three sets to secure the gold medal, while Team Qatar finished second to claim silver.Team Qatar had enjoyed an impressive campaign after opening the tournament with consecutive straight-set victories over Oman and the UAE before falling to Bahrain in the final round.In another match, Oman claimed the bronze medal after defeating the UAE three sets to one in the concluding round of the competition.Team Qatar had won gold at the previous edition of the GCC Games in Kuwait in 2022 after defeating the UAE in straight sets, while Bahrain raised their tally to three gold medals in GCC Games history. 

Strong Start to Trap Shooting Competitions

Doha: The trap shooting competitions at Lusail Shooting Complex got underway today as part of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, which continue until May 22 with the participation of elite athletes from GCC countries competing across 19 sports.The opening day of the trap competition featured strong and exciting contests in the men’s and women’s individual and team categories, with shooters competing over 75 targets across three rounds of 25 targets each.The competition will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, with two additional rounds over 50 targets, after which the top eight shooters will qualify for the finals before the winners in each category are crowned.In the men’s category, Kuwait’s Talal Al Rashidi topped the standings with 72 targets, while Qatar’s Mohammed Al Rumaihi placed second with 71 targets, tied with Kuwait’s Abdulrahman Al Faihan.In the women’s category, Qatar’s Maytha Al Buainain led the standings with 66 targets, followed by Kuwait’s Shahad Al Hawal with 65, while Qatar’s Nawal Al Khalaf ranked third with 63.In the men’s team competition, Team Qatar — comprising Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Angelo Scalzoni, and Saeed Abu Shareb — finished first with a total of 209 targets, ahead of Kuwait in second with 205 and the UAE in third with 204.In the women’s team category, Team Qatar — comprising Maytha Al Buainain, Khulood Al Khalaf, and Ray Bassil — also ranked first with 186 targets, ahead of Kuwait with 185 and Bahrain with 171. The final standings will be determined after the conclusion of the second day of competition tomorrow.

Team Qatar Aim for Volleyball Gold at GCC Games Doha 2026

Doha:  men’s volleyball team will face Bahrain tomorrow, Tuesday, in a highly anticipated clash in the third and final round of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Aspire Sports Hall.Team Qatar have already secured at least one medal in the competition after recording their second consecutive victory with a straight-sets win over Oman.The Qatari team are aiming to finish in first place and claim the gold medal for the second time in their history at the GCC Games, with the decisive encounter against Bahrain set to determine the gold medal winners, while the losing side will receive silver.Team Qatar and Bahrain currently share top spot in the standings with six points each following the conclusion of the second round of the competition, which features four teams competing in a single round-robin format. Meanwhile, the UAE and Oman remain without points.The third round will also feature another match between the UAE and Oman at 4:00 p.m. to determine third place and the bronze medal.Team Qatar had previously won the gold medal at the third edition of the GCC Games held in Kuwait in 2022 after defeating the UAE in straight sets, while Bahrain had won gold in the first and second editions of the Games.

Team Qatar Padel Continue Winning Run

Doha: Team Qatar padel team continued their winning streak at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 during the ongoing competitions at the specially prepared Aspire padel courts.Team Qatar secured a 3-0 victory over Kuwait, as the duo of Mishari Nawaf and Rashid Nawaf won the opening match in straight sets 6-2 and 6-0.The pair of Mohammed Saadoun and Hassan Wali also won the second match in straight sets 7-6 and 6-1, while Mohammed Al Khanji and Ryan Al Jufairi secured victory in the third match.This marked Team Qatar’s second consecutive victory after previously defeating Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the opening match.Team Qatar are scheduled to face Bahrain today in their third match of the tournament as they aim to continue their winning run and retain the gold medal they won at the previous GCC Games in Kuwait.
