Team Qatar sparkled to win 34 medals at GCC Women's Games
KUWAIT, October 31 , 2019 – Team Qatar continued their winning streak on Thursday to raise the country's tally to a total of 34 medals in closing day of the prestigious GCC Women's Games 2019 in Kuwait.Qatar's athletes have displayed a remarkable performance to win a total of 34 medals , 9 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze . Qatar athletics team won 8 medals, shooting team clinched 3 medals, fencing team seized two silver medals in Foil and Epee classes.On the same track of glory, Qatar handball team claimed the gold medal, meanwhile table tennis team clinched 5 medals and Taekwondo team secured 4 medals in difference weight classes.Qatar's athletics team for people with special needs have also posted their trademark in the games by winning 7 medals.Team Qatar delegation to the games is chaired by Lolwa Al-Marri, President of Qatar Women's Sport Committee , accompanied by 132 athletes, administrators and technical staff members.
QOC to mark World Walking Day on Thursday
Doha, October 31, 2019 – The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will celebrate the 7th World Walking Day 2019 on Thursday in Katara.The event is under the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), which is responsible for sport for all in the world.The event is held in collaboration with the Qatar Diabetes Association and Katara. It highlights the importance of walking on health and support the concept of sport for all.Last year, QOC celebrated the World Walking Day at Aspire Park. The event was attended by several veteran Qatari athletes, Aspire employees, Qatari scouts, and QOC staff, as well as students representing 12 schools.The World Walking Day aims to instill the concept of sport for all and to encourage all members of the society to practice types of non-competitive sports activities that help promote physical activity. Walking is the least stressful, safest and most acceptable sport for all people at any stage of life.
Rawad Al-Naser claims singles silver in Oman Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Open
Muscat, October 30, 2019-Qatar's Rawad Al-Naser claimed the silver medal of boys singles event at the 2019 Oman Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Open in Muscat on Monday. In the final match, Qatar's Rawad Al-Naser suffered a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Chinese Taipei's Hsu Hsien-Chia. Rawad Al-Naser began his campaign in the tournament by beating Mohammed Al Suwailam of Saudi Arabia 3-0 then he defeated Moayad Al Motawa of Oman 3-1. In the semifinals, Rawad Al-Naser edged past Li Aliso of Singapore.
Team Qatar win six medals in GCC Women’s Games
Kuwait, October 30, 2019-The Qatari athletics team claimed six medals in the 6th GCC Women's Games to conclude in Kuwait on Wednesday. Rania Al Naji claimed the gold medal of hammer throw event while Mona Al Saadi took the gold medal of discus throw event for people with special needs. Kenzi Al Alawi clinched the silver medal of heptathlon event while Salma Dhahi took the silver of discus throw event. In 4x400m relay event, Qatar's Alaa Naddi, Kenzi Alawi, Maryam Farid and Maryam Falhoom took the silver medal. Earlier on Monday, Bashair Obaid won gold in the triple jump event and Maryam Farid took silver in the 400m hurdles as Qatari athletes shone in GCC Women's Games

Team Qatar to participate in Arab Mountain Bike Championship
Tunisia, October 29, 2019-The Qatari cycling team will participate in the 3rd Arab Mountain Bike Championship being held in Tunisia from October 28 to November 02, 2019. The event brings together nine countries including Qatar, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq and hosts Tunisia. Qatar's Squad: Abdulllah Afif, Marawan Al Jalham, Abdullah Al Khater, Belal Al Saadi and Nayef Al Musalam.
